mission-minded families missions & support
At Mission-Minded Families, we have some exciting adventures on the horizon -- including international mission outreaches, ministry and speaking across the U.S., podcasts and training courses for your family (plus some personal and national prayer needs heavy on our hearts).
A Bible verse we've been pondering lately is from Ephesians 3:20-21.
20 Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, 21 to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
No matter what the circumstances, OUR GOD IS ABLE! We know that God can do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. And our focus is for GOD alone to get ALL THE GLORY.
- International Missions -- with Harvest Ministry
In November (and into December) we will travel to Uganda to lead our HMFI -- Harvest Ministry Fellowship International -- annual leadership conference, with a schedule attendance of about 2,000 leaders, including national pastors and ministers from across East Africa. Together with our youngest son, we'll also travel through Iceland and Denmark (both spiritually needy nations) and trust God to daily direct our steps for His purposes.
Four of our adult "kids" will also be taking two simultaneous mission outreaches this month, led by Gospel Projects International, a ministry founded by our son and daughter-in-law Josh & Anna Dunagan. Josh will be ministering in Nepal, along with another son, Mark (just finishing his Bible training at CFNI -- Christ for the Nations Institute). Together, they'll be doing remote mountain evangelism and checking on the construction of an upcoming orphan ministry in Nepal: Himalaya Daya Children's Home.
During the same time-frame, our "middlest" son Daniel, along his wife Anna (and yes, we have two lovely "Anna Dunagan's" as daughter-in-law's in our family), will go on a mission to S.E. India, to check on the orphan ministry at Aasha Children's Home, and to encourage village churches (and we get the incredible blessing of sharing "grand-baby duty" for their two little cuties).
It's kinda crazy how much our family is traveling! Our kids are mostly all grown now, but for all of them being "homeschooled" it's obvious they're getting out of the house! Just this month (for ministry, travel or business), we've had immediate family members in Ireland, Malaysia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and the Philippines; and within the next few weeks, we'll be adding India, France, Nepal, Iceland, Denmark and Uganda!
- Ministry across the USA
This month, we're also traveling to Louisiana and Oklahoma, including a stop at Oral Roberts University for this year's Homecoming celebration.
- Upcoming Podcasts & Mission Training Courses
On our Mission-Minded Families podcast in November, we'll be finishing our Parenting by Faith not Fear series for moms (with a study through Psalm 91), along with several episodes on Prayer. We also hope to launch a 7-Day Missions Assessment (our first training course) and hopefully the beginning of two other courses (a course for kids and a pre-conference course for women) -- both tentative, depending on our family's situation.
- Personal & National Prayer Needs
This month, all of our plans are needing to remain flexible, as Ann's much-loved dad, Pat Molitor, suffered a massive stroke on October 25th. He was in ICU for a week (and Ann stayed beside her mom for 6 days) and despite huge challenges, we've seen many improvements and answers to prayer. We're all trusting in God, and believing for continued healing and restoration.
Like many other Christians, we are also praying for the United States of America -- for God's mercy and grace over this upcoming election.
And in everything, no matter what, we are filled with thanksgiving to God, for our GOD IS GOOD . . . and HE IS ABLE.
... to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations,
forever and ever. Amen.
